Indian government’s ambitious Smart Cities Mission to develop 100 smart cities across the country is propelled by a desire to make urban governance and management efficient and improve livability in cities. The mission has encouraged most of the urban local bodies in India to look towards technological innovation to make their urban operations smart and efficient. This requires finances, access to functional technological options, capacity building of municipal staff, and effective leadership at the local level.
A series of initiatives at the global level suggest that cities will need to harness real-time urban intelligence to power their smart mobility, energy, utilities, and city commerce programs, connecting all their smart urban applications and scaling these with ease. The collection of real-time data and optimizing the same for rendering civic services is of critical importance. All India Institute of Local Self-Government in association with InfoComm India is organizing the panel discussion on 'Smart Urbanization in Indian cities' to underline the importance of smart urbanization system and the find a way forward to implement the idea on the ground.

ABOUT THE SESSION
Continuously, universities want to obtain new education buildings, for instance to cope with student growth numbers, to facilitate modern teaching and learning practices, or to replace premises that cannot be renovated any longer. Daily practices have shown a persistent number of errors and misconceptions in such building processes. Regular examples are construction artefacts placed within lecture hall sightlines and insufficient clear heights within classrooms delivering severe readability problems. Moreover, similar misconceptions between related disciplines occur more often than expected with refurbishment and transformation projects.
Delft University of Technology has been deciding to put education first with such projects. Teaching and learning practices are today’s leading factors when new build and refurbishing projects occur. A twofold strategy was followed to implement new policy, 1) governance structure containing parties from real estate, education affairs, facility services and AV-IT departments, and 2) Cookbook Education Spaces describing requirements for lecture halls, classrooms, and study workplaces.
An interactive configurator tool for education spaces was developed to support university staff and contractors with determining proper readability and sightlines for educational content, next to seat capacity and accessibility. TUDESC (TU Delft Education Spaces Configurator) helps to obtain optimum figures by altering several parameters with instant visual feedback.

The growing importance of cyberspace to modern society, and its increasing use as an arena for dispute, is becoming a national security concern for governments and armed forces globally. The special characteristics of cyberspace, such as its asymmetric nature, the lack of attribution, the low cost of entry, the legal ambiguity, and its role as an efficient medium for protest, crime, espionage and military aggression, makes it an attractive domain for nation-states as well as nonstate actors in cyber conflict.

Video meetings are increasingly pervasive in organizations of every size and type due to compelling improvements in AV quality, flexibility, ease of use, and affordability, plus the simple fact that face-to-face collaboration through video conferencing is the next best thing to being there in person. In the post pandemic world, modern video meetings are a game-changer, allowing remote workers and distributed teams to talk face to face, share files and screens, and whiteboard. Businesses that do not adopt the new way of working with Video Conferencing will fail to build relationships with the new supply chain, miss out on creativity and productivity that thrives on better communications between employees, and will be less agile and innovative. As adoption rates steadily increase, so do expectations about the overall video meeting experience. This presentation will cover the key points on how to setup the perfect video conferencing solution in all sizes of rooms.

Digital art and interactive media are common encounter one can experience while playing an AR game on the cell phone, visiting a museum, or shopping in a mall. What if we add lighting, sound, and motions to the environment or the very seat you are sitting in - that’s right, you are in a theme park. But wait, this is an ordinary week day in an office building, some well suited up business executives are experiencing exactly that. When a multi-billion dollars real estate development needed a place to conduct business, to showcase the products, to immerse the potential clients in their brand value, a venue will be built – the show suite. Thissession introduces the concepts, design, hardware and software tools, and the team of collaborators of some not so typical show suite projects.
